Srinagar, May 12 (KNO): Army on Tuesday said that it foiled an infiltration bid by killing an intruder along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu’s Poonch district.
In statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), an Army spokesman said, “Suspicious movement was detected around 4 pm nearly 300 metres inside Indian territory in the Krishna Ghati sector during sustained surveillance.”
“Troops of the White Knight Corps responded and thwarted the infiltration attempt, ensuring there was no breach of the LoC,” it said, adding, “One intruder was neutralised during the operation.” “One intruder has been neutralised. Own troops continue to dominate the area and maintain a high state of operational readiness across the sector," the White Knight Corps wrote.
Pertinently, security personnel had earlier opened fire after observing suspected movement close to the LoC, indicating a possible attempt by a group of terrorists to infiltrate from across the border—(KNO)
